Gluten-Free Break Your Heart Cakes

Ingredients

1 Medium Free-Range Egg (or egg substitute of choice)

2 Tbsp of Melted Vegan Butter

Sprinkle of Organic Powdered Sugar

Approximately 1 Tbsp of Activated Charcoal Powder (Enough to make the mix black)

About a 1/2 cup of Milkadamia Unsweetened Milk

1 Cup of King Arthur's All Purpose Gluten Free Flour

A hefty Sprinkle of Saigon Cinnamon

1 tsp of Vanilla Extract

1/4 Cup of Brown Sugar (Or Pureed Overripe Banana)

Various Heart Shaped "Cookie" Cutter

Method

Step One

Melt your butter. Pour into your flour and add the sugar (or banana,) vanilla extract, nut milk, and egg. Mix all together and begin to add your charcoal little by little. Mix until fully blended.

Step Two

Heat your none stick skillet to low heat.  When warm place all of the mix into the skillet as a huge pancake. Let cook thoroughly before flipping.

 

Step Three

Flip and cook until done. Take off of heat and allow to cool.

Step Four

Use your heart-shaped cutters and go to town. Then top with organic powdered sugar or eat plain!

Eat up and if you are feeling frisky make Nutella sandwiches with them. (15 minute prep time)
